The DP World Tour has confirmed that Sergio Garcia is expected to return to the circuit in 2027 after the former Ryder Cup star revealed his intention to regain full membership next season.
In an official statement, the Tour acknowledged Garcia’s plans to compete in a limited schedule, noting that the Spaniard remains eligible to pursue membership in accordance with the Tour’s regulations.
Garcia, 46, said he has always intended to return to the DP World Tour despite spending recent seasons competing on LIV Golf.

“It’s obviously something that I’ve always said that I wanted to do,” Garcia explained. “At 46, I can’t play 30 events a year, but I’m going to make an effort to play a handful and do my best there.”
The announcement comes as questions continue to surround LIV Golf’s long-term future. Garcia expressed confidence that the Saudi-backed league will remain in operation beyond 2026, even if changes are made to its structure.

“I’m 99 percent sure that LIV is going to continue,” Garcia said. “It’s just going to look different than it has the last four years. But I’m very, very confident that it’s going to keep going. We’ll see how it develops.”
Garcia’s expected return would mark another significant chapter in his long-standing relationship with the DP World Tour, where he has enjoyed a successful career spanning more than two decades.
While the veteran is not planning a full-time schedule, his presence at selected DP World Tour events in 2027 would bring another high-profile name back to the circuit as professional golf continues to evolve amid the ongoing changes involving LIV Golf.
