“I love us”: Kelly Piquet shares adorable picture with Max Verstappen and her daughter Penelope
Max Verstappen’s girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, shared a heartwarming photo on her social media to celebrate the Formula 1 champion’s 27th birthday. The picture features her, Verstappen, and the former’s daughter, Penelope Kvyat, enjoying the special day together at their Monaco home.
Kelly, who is the daughter of former three-time world champion Nelson Piquet Sr., has a daughter named Penelope with former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat. The pair dated from 2017 to 2019, when the Russian was in the sport with Toro Rosso. Penelope was born in 2019.Kelly began her relationship with Verstappen in late 2020. The couple has since been living together in Verstappen’s luxurious Monaco apartment with Piquet’s five-year-old daughter, Penelope.To celebrate Verstappen’s birthday, Piquet shared a beautiful Instagram story of the family, writing:
“I love us”
In a separate story, she also wished Verstappen on his birthday and wrote an adorable note for the 27-year-old.
“Happy Birthday Mashy!!! To a very special year ahead,” she worte.
The Dutch driver has been a strong advocate for his girlfriend, Kelly, often defending her on social media against online trolling.
Max Verstappen speaks out against online hate directed towards Kelly Piquet
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen recently stated that he found the online hate directed towards his girlfriend Kelly Piquet ‘bizzare’ and claimed that it affects her work as well.As per GPBlog, the three-time world champion said:
“That it’s even going to affect her work… You know, that’s pretty extreme. I’ve always been someone who says ignore, ignore, ignore, and don’t pay any further attention to it. But at a certain point, you just can’t ignore it anymore, because it really takes it to the limit how far people go.”
“It really goes a long way in how bad people can actually be. Some are, I think, generally also very jealous. It might also have something to do with that. Jealousy, envy: things like that,” he added.
Verstappen even stood by Piquet when she opened up about her experiences with online trolling in an Instagram post.
“This has to stop. These false accusations by certain individuals on Instagram and TikTok are insane and ridiculous at the same time. Hate has no place in this world. We know what’s true within our family and we are very happy together. I love you,” he commented on the post.
The pair is one of the most beloved couples in Formula 1. They are frequently seen together at race weekends, with Piquet traveling the world to cheer on her partner. The Brazilian model’s support is a constant presence in Verstappen’s racing career.
