Bryson DeChambeau Withdraws From LIV Golf Mexico City Ahead Of Final Round After Wrist Injury Scare

Bryson DeChambeau has officially withdrawn from LIV Golf Mexico City ahead of the final round after suffering discomfort in his wrist, ending what had already become a frustrating week for the Crushers GC captain. The two-time U.S. Open champion confirmed the decision in a statement, explaining that he felt pain during Saturday’s round and did not want to risk making the injury worse by continuing on Sunday.

According to reports, DeChambeau noticed the issue while swinging late in the third round and chose to take a cautious approach. With major championships still ahead on the calendar, including the PGA Championship next month, protecting his fitness appears to have been the priority. Sources say he plans to undergo evaluation over the next few days before deciding on his next event.

The withdrawal comes as a surprise given DeChambeau entered the week chasing a historic third straight LIV Golf victory. However, his game never fully clicked in Mexico City, and he was well behind leader Jon Rahm heading into the final round. After rounds that left him outside contention, the wrist issue became the final blow to an already disappointing tournament.

This latest setback also follows a difficult run for DeChambeau, who recently missed the cut at the Masters. Fans had expected a bounce-back performance in Mexico, but instead saw another week cut short. Questions will now grow over whether the injury is minor soreness or something more serious that could affect upcoming starts.

For LIV Golf, losing one of its biggest stars on the final day is another major talking point. For DeChambeau, attention now shifts to recovery and whether he can return at full strength in time for LIV Golf Virginia and the busy stretch ahead.
