A member of Team USA for the 2024 Olympics, Wyndham Clark’s name has quickly risen to be one of the best in the professional golf circuit. Since turning professional, Clark has secured 3 professional wins, including a Major championship win, at the US Open in 2018.
While Clark has had a plethora of successful moments, recently he had one of his dreams come true. Clark, along with other Team USA members, floated down the River Seine on a boat as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. Detailing his experience, the 30-year-old said (via GolfDigest.com):
“I wanted to participate in the Opening Ceremony because it’s a dream come true. I think it’s probably the coolest part about the Olympics, to be together with all the athletes and see all the countries and what the Olympics means to represent your own country. It’s something I didn’t want to miss, and it was something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Further detailing his experience, Clark added:
“The most memorable part was probably being on the boat and going by and seeing all the people that were in the stands waving down,” he said. “Also, you’re in a very historic city that has so many amazing monuments and then you have the people waving their country[sic] flags, just was honestly pretty surreal.”
Currently, Clark is ranked fifth in the world. The 2024 Olympics will be his first participation in an Olympic Games, and it will be interesting to see if he can win a medal for Team USA.
