Justin Thomas and wife Jillian makes surprising Announcement

Thomas took to Instagram to express his disappoinment with missing out on the biennial event, but he followed that up with a major announcement – he and wife Jillian are expecting their first child later this Fall.

“I’m obviously very bummed to not be joining the boys in Canada for the Presidents Cup,” Thomas wrote. “But completely understanding Jim [Furyk] has put together a great team. I will be the first one pulling for them and watching, while using it as motivation to not miss a team event again as they are some of my favorite weeks I’ve had.

“It will be nice to have some time to work on things, foundation event, some R&R, and even become a dad at the end of November! While I’m excited for the ‘off season’, I’m already looking forward to practicing and getting ready for Maui. Thanks to everybody for countless support and kind words as I always appreciate it. That’s enough of me getting in my feels for today.”

For those keeping score, this means the entire original #SB2K16 crew are now going to be dads. Jordan Spieth broke the ice in the Fall of 2021, announcing the birth of his first child, son Sammy, on November 14. Four days later, Rickie Fowler’s daughter Maya was born. Smylie Kaufman joined the party in January of 2023, with his daughter Anna being born on the 16th. JT was the last domino to fall, a true milestone moment. Spieth and Fowler are already on baby No. 2 as well.

Thomas also shouted out Scottie Scheffler for his “incredible and inspiring” season. The two-time major champ added that he was very proud and happy of showing some signs of improvement in 2024 after a down year in 2023, though he’s far from satisfied.

“Finishing the year in Atlanta is something I never want to take for granted,” he said. “I look forward to working to get back there next year.”

This past year, Thomas did not get his season started until the 2024 American Express, missing out on the Sentry Tournament of Champions for the first time since 2015. He’ll return to Maui this January, qualifying via finishing top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings. After amassing 15 tour wins between 2015 and 2022, Thomas will begin 2025 looking to pick up his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
