Major events on the PGA Tour will be affected by the revised scoring system announced by the Official World Golf Ranking, which could positively impact major chances for LIV golfers.
According to the Official World Golf Rankings announcement on December 21st, these two changes will take effect from January 1st, 2024.
The first change is for participants on OWGR-certified tours to implement a “new points distribution curve” that will award higher points to top finishers in his 80-person or less events.
A player who falls in the bottom 15% of a field of this size without a cut will no longer earn his points in the rankings.
