Christian Horner assumed the risk of giving away some details regarding the future of Daniel Ricciardo at the Red Bull Family. The paddock chatter within the sport had highlighted that the said Australian driver was doing the last race of his career, most recent of them anyway, but it was released from Horner’s latest admission that the driver is preparing to return shortly.
In an F1TV post-race interview, it was Horner who focused on Ricciardo’s whereabouts, at least for the time being. The Honey Badger currently races full-time for Visa Cash App RB alongside Yuki Tsunoda and as per Horner, the Red Bull hierarchy is set to review his situation next month.
Horner permitted himself to speak about the understanding by the management of the team of the fields of advancement of Ricciardo when it was mentioned the time of the year when we are looking at the calendar and saying 2 and then there is a natural break. “I mean we’re looking at a natural break now almost a month between the races.” “As per our options are concerned of course, [we’re going to] evaluate all scenarios. So, Daniel, he’s his capabilities we know what he’s done he’s showed again with that last lap.”
“That [the fastest lap’] he did there which obviously for us was important since it carries one point from Lando let us not speculate on this span as well including the next fifteen days and we will use a period such during which we will think a lot about how forward we will be and what strategies will prepare,” Horner said.
Daniel Ricciardo returned to Formula 1 after Red Bull decided to part ways with Nyck de Vries in mid-2023. However, he failed to live up to expectations and now finds himself in a situation where he could lose his seat to Liam Lawson, Red Bull’s academy driver.
