Tiger Woods’ partnership with Nike has been an important part of the brand’s legacy.
However, recent reports suggest that the 15-time major champion and sportswear giant want to part ways after 27 years together.
The history of Nike and golf goes back to 1986, when the company began manufacturing golf shoes, but it wasn’t until 1998 that the company made a splash in the golf world.
Two years after signing Woods, the company decided to enter the golf market with equipment and Nike was recognized as the leading golf brand.
After being in the equipment business for 18 years, Nike unfortunately withdrew in 2016 and shifted his focus completely to apparel and footwear manufacturing.
