Donovan Mitchell Sends Blunt Message to Cavaliers Teammates After Game 3 Win

In a pivotal Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Cleveland Cavaliers secured a 126-104 win over the Indiana Pacers, narrowing the series deficit to 2-1. Donovan Mitchell led the charge with an impressive 43 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, shooting 48% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. This marked his second consecutive 40-plus point game, a feat previously achieved only by LeBron James in Cavaliers postseason history .

Despite the victory, Mitchell emphasized the importance of team effort and maintaining aggression throughout the game. “I couldn’t let it happen again, and it wasn’t just me,” he stated postgame. “I know I scored, but we got stops, made plays. For me, just trying to be the aggressor.” His leadership was evident as he took control during critical moments, ensuring the Cavaliers maintained their lead and momentum.

The return of key players Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and De’Andre Hunter from injury also bolstered the team’s performance. Head coach Kenny Atkinson acknowledged the urgency of the situation, noting, “It was kind of now or never,” highlighting the collective effort required to overcome the series deficit .

Historically, only five NBA teams have come back to win a series after losing the first two games at home. The Cavaliers aim to become the sixth, with Game 4 scheduled for Sunday. Mitchell’s leadership and the team’s renewed vigor suggest a determined push to tie the series and continue their playoff run.
