Following the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, where Oscar Piastri clinched victory, Lando Norris secured second, and George Russell completed the podium, the trio gathered in the cooldown room to review race highlights. A pivotal moment was the replay of the intense battle between Max Verstappen and Norris.
As the footage played, Russell commented, “Cool fight though. That was a very cool fight.” Piastri humorously responded, “Well, you did just win the race because of it,” prompting laughter from both Russell and Carlos Sainz, who was also present.
Reflecting on the race, Russell acknowledged the fierce competition, stating, “It was a tough fight out there at the beginning of the race just to hold on to that third place, and I saw on the TV that Max and Lando were getting pretty close. I knew Lando would want to try to get that race win. He was fired up.”
Piastri, who overtook Verstappen on lap 14, had previously commented on Verstappen’s aggressive driving style, noting that while Verstappen is a “ruthless racer,” he sometimes “steps over the limit.”
In the cooldown room, the atmosphere was light-hearted, with the drivers sharing laughs over the race’s intense moments, showcasing the camaraderie and mutual respect among the top competitors.
