Scottie Scheffler had a uncommon relatable minute on the golf course Thursday amid the opening circular of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn.
Scheffler’s score stood at 4 beneath standard when his tee shot on the 13th gap landed in a bunker, 185 yards absent from the stick. His moment shot found more sand—this time in a trap to the proper of the green.
On his third shot, Scheffler thudded the golf ball 13 feet absent from the gap. In spite of the fact that any other normal golfer would be thrilled with that shot, the No. 1-ranked player within the world was not. Scheffler pummeled his club into the sand in disappointment as his ball landed on the green.
Scheffler missed the standard putt and tapped in for a bogey—his as it were intruder within the tournament’s opening circular. The 28-year-old wrapped up the day with 12 pars, five birdies and one intruder for a 4-under 66, great for a seven-way tie for fifth put heading into the second round Friday.
American golfer Chris Kirk is the through and through pioneer of the FedEx St. Jude Championship after shooting a six-under 64 on Thursday.
Scheffler, who will play nearby Xander Schauffele once more within the moment circular, is set to tee off at 10:35 a.m. ET Friday.
