Scottie Scheffler suffers domestic accident, withdraws from The Sentry 2025

Scottie Scheffler suffered an injury to his right hand in an accident at home on Christmas Day. The injury required surgery and has prompted the world number one to withdraw from The Sentry, the first event of the 2025 season.

The news was released by the PGA Tour Communications X (formerly Twitter) account. A statement from Blake Smith, Scottie Scheffler’s manager, was also released, which reads as follows:
“On Christmas Day while preparing dinner, Scottie sustained a puncture wound to the palm of his right hand from a broken glass. Small glass fragments remained in the palm which required surgery.”
“He has been told that he should be back to 100% in three to four weeks. Unfortunately, he will have to withdraw from The Sentry. His next scheduled tournament is The American Express.”
