With the LIV Golf season coming to an end this weekend, a whole host of big-name stars from the breakaway league are set to venture elsewhere for competitive golf in October
A add up to of 14 LIV Golf stars are set to create their return to the DP World Visit in October, having been included on the section list for another month’s Alfred Dunhill Joins Championship.
The Pro-Am occasion – that has ended up a staple on the DP World Visit plan – has once once more pulled in a solid field, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick all teeing it up over St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns Golf Joins.
They will be joined by a number of their LIV rivals in spite of the fact that, with a few taking advantage of their DP World Visit exception status, with others accepting competition welcomes to come and compete over a few of Scotland’s most prestigious course.
Featuring the returning LIV stars is previous world No. 1 Jon Rahm. Rahm’s future on the DP World Visit has ended up a colossal talking point in later months, with the Spaniard required to play in three more occasions on the European setup by the conclusion of the year to stay a part, and hence qualified for the Ryder Container.
Having been issued fines and suspensions for competing in ‘conflicting’ LIV occasions by DP World Visit bosses, questions were cast over whether the Army XIII captain would be able to carry out his prerequisites and speak to Group Europe following year. Luckily an offer is set to permit him to compete within the Spanish Open, Andalucia Experts and the trip to the Dunhill Joins.
Rahm’s Army XIII colleague, Tyrrell Hatton finds himself within the same watercraft when it comes to completing the four-event share to stay a Visit part. Not at all like Rahm’s one begin, Hatton has played in two DP World Tour occasions this year, and is set to form it three and four nearby his LIV captain in Spain and Scotland.
Somewhere else, another huge title from the Saudi-funded circuit teeing it up in Scotland is five-time major winner Brooks Koepka. The Crush GC captain committed to the DP World Visit event last week, and communicated his energy to play his top pick golf course within the Ancient Course at St Andrews.
I’ve been blessed to play in a few Dunhill Joins, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the a long time, and these trips are continuously highlights to my year,” he said. “I adore Joins golf and St Andrews is my top choice course within the world.
Koepka will also be joined by his Smash GC counterpart, and LIV’s 2023 individual champion Talor Gooch. Three-time LIV winner Gooch was set to compete in the DP World Tour event last year, but was a late withdrawal from the tournament which was eventually won by Fitzpatrick following a delayed finish on the Monday.
There is also space for two former major champions too, with 2016 Masters champion, Patrick Reed earning an invite, as well as 2010 Open at St Andrews, Louis Oosthuizen. The full list of LIV stars entered into next month’s event is below.
